Join Café Coyote for a reenactment of the Cry of Dolores at 6pm on Sunday, September 15, 2024. Live performance by Mariachi Fuente Originado en San Diego from 5PM-6PM!

The Cry of Dolores (Grito de Dolores) originally occurred September 16, 1810 when Miguel Hidalgo y Castillo, a Roman Catholic priest, rang his church bell and called upon Mexico to join him in open revolt against Spain.

This event marks the call to arms that began the Mexican War of Independence.
